Binbrook, Louth Market

I retired from work on 18th December 2009 and am now a man of leisure. I am looking forward to getting on with all the things that have been neglected around the house and garden, and want to spend more time using my camera which has not been put to great use for some time. My other great interest is in the EE Lightning and in particular visiting the Lightning Preservation Group at Bruntingthorpe where 2 Lightnings in fast taxi condition reside.

Information

A bit about Louth a lovely little market town in Lincolnshire. It was where I decided to settle down after my posting to RAF Binbrook from Germany in 1979

After many postings around UK and Germany the family fell in love with Louth and it's surroundings and decided to make this our home. Several moves within Louth and the kids now flown the coop, this will do just fine.

Introduction

Just a bit about me and my background. Born in Scotland, Married with 2 kids and now living in Louth, Lincolnshire. Left Dundee to join the RAF in 1971 and after completing 22 years in 1993, was demobbed and came back to live in Louth where I bought a property whilst stationed at RAF Binbrook 1979-85

Found it difficult to secure a suitable job ( with decent pay ) outside of the usual civvy aircraft industry, so decided to find something entirely different and after a few months found a job as an Optical Technician for the next 8 years until being made redundant. Worked as an IT Assistant for the next 8 years till finally retiring December 2009.

My interests are in IT and Computers in general, and I enjoy building Web Sites either as a hobby or for friends who need a helping hand. Love to travel abroad, and have managed to fit in Sri Lanka, India, Hong Kong, Bali to name but a few, so for those leaving the Forces, I can say after the initial shock there is life out there, just takes a bit of time getting adjusted to it.
